62626 DAY!

62626 Day is a community celebration on Friday, June 26, centered on the Historic Square in Carlinville. Admission is free & it runs from 5 PM to 10 PM.

Three quarters of the Square will be closed to traffic for the evening, creating a gathering space unlike anything Carlinville has seen before.

This is a first for our community in more ways than one.

What's happening that evening?

A lot.

  • Taste of Carlinville (5-8 PM): Local restaurants bringing their food to the Square. Tasting stations, food trucks, and signature fare from the places people love. Come hungry.

  • Cocktails by Route 66 Old Fashioned (5-9:30 PM): For the first time ever in Carlinville, there will be open container on the Square. 21+ with ID.

  • Live Music on the Main Stage: Hank Greenwalt performs 5-6:30 PM, followed by Miles Station from 7:30-9:30 PM.

  • Municipal Band at the Gazebo (6:30-7:30 PM): With the Rotary Club Ice Cream Social happening at the same time.

  • Kids Zone on East Main: Bounce houses and kids activities for families.

  • Community Organizations: The Lions Club Purple Train will be giving rides. The Christmas Market, Macoupin County Historical Society, Carlinville Library, 4-H Club, Imagine Rural Arts, Carlinville Area Hospital, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the Macoupin County Fair Queens, Carlinville Queens, Lions Carnival Queens, CHS Cheerleaders, and more are all bringing what they do to the Square for one night.

Photo opportunities throughout. A party that brings together the things people love most about this town, all in one place, on one night.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Literally.

What is 62626 Spirit Week?

62626 Day doesn't start at 5 PM on June 26. It starts June 22.

62626 Spirit Week is a five-day community celebration leading up to the big day. Each day has its own theme, and local businesses are invited to participate in ways that connect them to the excitement building across town all week long.

Here's the week:

Monday, June 22:
Carlinville Kindness Day

Encourage staff and customers to spread kindness. Watch for free Chamber Insider Memberships being given out throughout the day.

Tuesday, June 23:
Hometown Heroes Day

Recognize an employee or community partner publicly. Tag the Chamber on Facebook and we'll amplify it.

Wednesday, June 24:
62626 Spirit Day

Decorate your storefront in red and blue. Have staff wear 62626 gear and post a team photo.

Thursday, June 25:
Carlinville Gives Day

See below.

Friday, June 26:
62626 Day

Run a sidewalk sale, in-store special, or promotion. The Square closes at 5 PM for the evening celebration.

Carlinville Gives Day: Thursday, June 25

On Carlinville Gives Day, businesses are invited to host a "Pack the Place" event. Donate a portion of your sales for a set time period, or the whole day, to a local organization, team, nonprofit, school group, or cause of your choice.

It's a simple idea with real impact. You drive traffic. You support a local cause. And you become part of something bigger.

The Chamber will be promoting every participating business on its website and social channels throughout Spirit Week.

There's also something special happening on 62626 Day itself: the Chamber will announce a collective community giving total, highlighting how much Carlinville businesses give back together every year.

We want your business represented in that number.

If you already know your annual giving total and want to submit it, you can do that HERE

Why this matters for your business:

Thousands of people will be paying attention to what is happening in Carlinville that week. The Chamber will be heavily promoting every participating business, special, and event throughout Spirit Week and on 62626 Day.

The daytime activities on June 26 are centered around the courthouse lawn. The Chamber's goal with Spirit Week is to drive people into local businesses, restaurants, shops, and experiences throughout the entire week leading up to the evening celebration.

Give people a reason to stop in, shop, share, and remember your business as part of this.

How to get involved:

Sign up to participate in Spirit Week and 62626 Day promotions

A member of the Chamber team will also be stopping by businesses with printed information, to answer questions, and to help collect annual giving totals.
