Help us light up Carlinville this Christmas! 🎄
We're putting together a holiday lights tour through Carlinville, and we'd love to include your home!
Beginning December 1, we'll share an official Holiday Lights Tour map featuring participating homes throughout Carlinville. Families can enjoy an evening driving through town, taking in the decorations, and voting for their favorite display.
And to make things a little more exciting, we're offering a $400 People's Choice Grand Prize to the home with the most votes!
The home receiving the most votes will win $400 and an official 2026 People's Choice Winner yard sign to proudly display!
Registration is $5 per home, which includes your official numbered contest sign and a spot on the Carlinville Holiday Lights Tour map.
Simply register by November 20, pick up your sign at the Discover Carlinville Welcome Center, and have your decorations ready to shine by December 1.
We ask that all participating homes keep their lights illuminated from 5–9 PM nightly, December 1–25, so visitors know when they can enjoy the displays. You're certainly welcome to leave them on longer!
November 20: Registration deadline
November 29: Final day to pick up your official contest sign
December 1: All displays and signs must be ready. The Holiday Lights Tour map is released and People's Choice voting begins.
December 1–25: Holiday Lights Tour and public voting
December 25: Voting closes at 11:59 PM
December 26: Grand prize winner announced!
The Holiday Lights Tour map will remain available through December 31 for those who would like to continue exploring the displays. Participating homes are only required to have their lights on through December 25.
Signs will be available at the Discover Carlinville Welcome Center, 494 W Side Square, during the following hours:
Tuesday, November 24: 3–5:30 PM
Friday, November 27: 9 AM–5 PM
Saturday, November 28: 9 AM–5 PM
Sunday, November 29: 11 AM–3 PM
All signs must be picked up by November 29 and displayed by December 1.
Participating homes must be located within the designated Carlinville tour area.
Displays must be residential and visible from a public street.
Homeowners must have their decorations complete and official numbered contest sign displayed by December 1.
Lights must be illuminated from 5–9 PM nightly, December 1–25.
By registering, participants agree to have their home's address published on the official Holiday Lights Tour map and related promotional materials.
The $400 grand prize winner will be determined by public voting. Voting details and instructions will be released December 1.
Visitors are asked to enjoy displays from public roads and sidewalks and respect private property.
The Chamber reserves the right to exclude displays that do not meet the participation or safety guidelines.
Registration fees are nonrefundable.
